Sokoto Federal Lawmaker Jelani Danbuga Dies After Illness

A federal lawmaker from Sokoto State, Mr Jelani Danbuga, has reportedly died after a brief illness, reports reaching us disclosed.

The House of Representatives member was said to have died in the early hours of Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

He was the legislator representing Isa/Sabon Birni federal constituency of Sokoto State in the current National Assembly.

Confirming his death, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing Sabon Birni South Constituency, Mr Aminu Almustapha, popularly known as Boza, said the deceased had a slight health issue and went to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday afternoon.

However, in the wee hours of today, he breathed his last, with his corpse being prepared for burial later today.

Mr Danbuga, who is survived by two wives, many children, and grandchildren, won the 2023 election under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
