The House of Representatives will screen the nominees of President Bola Tinubu for the board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Thursday, October 12, more than a month since the 17-man team was nominated.

This was contained in a statement jointly issued by the Chairperson of the House Committee on NDDC, Mr Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu and the House spokesperson, Mr Akin Rotimi on Wednesday.

The ad hoc committee set up by the House to screen the nominees includes Mr Julius Ihonvbere (House Leader), Mr Abdullahi Halims (Deputy Leader), Mr Kingsley Chinda (Minority Leader), Mr Ali Isa (Deputy Minority Leader), Mr Usman Kumo (Chief Whip), Oriyomi Onanuga (Deputy Chief Whip), Ms Ibori-Suenu and Mr Jafaru Leko (Deputy Chairman, House Committee on NDDC).

President Tinubu had on Tuesday written a letter to the House seeking the confirmation of the board of the NDDC. The letter was read on the floor of the green chamber by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Benjamin Kalu, who presided over Tuesday’s plenary.

On August 30, the President approved the 17-man board and management team.
