Report reaching Business Post indicates that Mrs Binta Adamu Bello has finally resumed as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
This follows the recent redeployment of Permanent Secretaries by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, which led to the deployment of the former Permanent Secretary, Health, Mrs Amina Shamaki, to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, and Mrs Bello from Women Affairs and Social Development, to the Health Ministry.
At the official handing over and taking over of mantles of leadership last Friday in Abuja, Mrs Bello appealed for cooperation from the management and staff of Health Ministry so as to move the health sector to greater heights.
“I am here to work for you, for Nigerian men and women, young and old, physically challenged and the unborn babies. I want to tell you that my door is open, I am ready to cooperate and listen to your honest pieces of advice”, she said.
She also said that she was a team player who believed in team work. ‘I can’t do it alone, I assure you that together, we would work to increase the health indices of our country.”
Earlier, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr Amina Shamaki said that the Ministry had been meeting with health sector stakeholders in a bid to solve the lingering crises in the health sector.
She therefore, urged the top management staff of the Ministry to be open minded and free with the new Permanent Secretary to enable her consolidate on the successes recorded in the Ministry.
