President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The swearing-in took place shortly before the commencement of the weekly virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.
The commissioners sworn in for the NPC job included Mr Benedict Effiong (Akwa Ibom), Mrs Gloria Fateya Izonfo (Bayelsa), Mrs Kupchi Patricia Ori Iyanya (Benue), Mr Haliru Bala (Kebbi), and Mr Eyitayo Oyetunji (Oyo).
The ICPC commissioners were retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju (Ekiti State); Mr Anthony Agbo (Ebonyi), Mrs Anne Otelafu Odey (Cross River), Mr Goni Ali Gujba (Yobe), and Mr Louis Mandama (Adamawa).
Those who attended the FEC meeting physically at the Council Chamber were Vice President, Mr Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser to the President, Mr Babagana Monguno.
The Ministers in attendance were the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami; Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed; Labour and Employment, Mr Chris Ngige; Agriculture, Mahmud Muhammed; and Minister of Environment, Mr Muhammed Abdullahi.
Others were Power, Mr Abubakar Aliyu; Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; Water Resources, Mr Suleiman Adamu; Science and technology, Mr Ogbonnaya Onu; and the Minister of State for Health, Mr Olorunimbe Mamora.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Folasade Yemi-Esan and other cabinet ministers participated virtually from their respective offices in Abuja.
