Ten executive management members of DAAR Communications Plc will retire on October 31, 2024, a statement from the media organisation has revealed.
The affected persons are Mr Tony Akiotu, Mrs Tosin Dokpesi, Mr Ambrose Somide, Mr Anthony Uyah, Ms Paulyn Ugbodagha, Mrs Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi, Ms Faith Ikems, Mr Omoni Mac Amarere, Mr John Iwarue, and Mr Johnson Onime.
In a disclosure signed by the Company Secretary, Miji Jonah, the firm stated that the clarification followed reports that these persons were sacked by the board.
In the notice filed to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, DAAR Communications explained that the decision to retire the 10 executive management staff of the organisation was because of the end of their tenure.
“A decision has been taken to retire members of executive management who have spent over 10 years in executive capacity in compliance with the company’s internal control policies and procedures manual,” a part of the statement read.
The company noted that, “The retirements are effective from October 31, 2024, following the completion of their prescribed tenure of two terms of five years.
“The board is indeed grateful to all affected members for their invaluable contributions to the company during their tenure in the management and wishes them the very best in their future endeavours.
“The company is working on a major restructuring of its leadership and once this is concluded, the exchange, other regulatory authorities, its shareholders and the general public would be notified of such changes accordingly.”
