Former Minister of Industry, Mr Kola Jamodu, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, will retire from the company as Chairman next month, a statement from the organisation has disclosed.
Mr Jamodu, who doubles as the Chairman of Nigerian Breweries Plc, was appointed the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc in November 2014.
This was after he had earlier left the firm in 2001 when he was appointed as the Minister of Industry by former president Olusegun Obasanjo. He left the position in 2003.
Before his appointment as Minister, he was appointed as a non-executive Chairman of the board of PZ Cussons after he retired from the firm in 1999 as the chief executive officer. He had joined PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc in 1974 and served in executive positions for 24 years.
On Friday, December 11, 2020, Mr Jamodu will finally bow out of PZ Cussons to pursue other personal interests, according to the statement signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Jacqueline Ezeokwelume.
“Chief Kola Jamodu will retire as a non-executive director and Chairman of the board effective, December 11, 2020, to enable him to pursue other personal endeavours,” the notice said.
Mr Jamodu is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA and also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
In addition, he is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, London and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), London.
Also, he is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD), Nigeria. He is an honorary member of the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council.
Mr Jamodu was a former president of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and a past president of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Nigeria.
