Mr Jide Okuntola, an experienced banker, has been appointed to the board of directors of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Plc.
The appointee is joining the board of the pan-African financial institution as an Executive Director after approvals from both the board and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the investing public are hereby informed that the board of directors of GTBank has approved the appointment of Mr Jide Okuntola as an Executive Director of GTBank.
“Mr Okuntola’s banking experience spans through Transactions Services, Financial Control and Oil and Gas. He is responsible for managing the bank’s oil and gas portfolio covering the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream subsectors of the oil and gas industry.
“Mr Okuntola holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Lagos State University and a Master of Business Administration (Petroleum and Energy Economics) from the European-American University. He has attended a number of executive management and banking specific programmes in leading educational institutions.
“The approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been received for the said appointment,” a statement issued by the lender said.
