One of the top cement makers in Nigeria, Lafarge Africa Plc, has announced the exit of Ms Sylvie Rochier from its board.
The Frenchwoman resigned from the company’s board with effect from October 30, 2018 as a non-executive director, a statement from the firm said.
She joined the board of Lafarge Africa on July 26, 2012, and was appointed as Vice-Chairman of the Board in April 2018 and has since served in the capacity of a non-executive director till her resignation.
In the statement, the board and management of Lafarge Africa expressed their appreciation to Ms Rochier for “her support and contributions towards the achievement of the business’ goals and objectives.”
“We wish her the very best in her future endeavours,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the firm has announced the appointment of another French national, Mr Jean-Philippe Benard as a non-executive director on the board of the company with effect from October 31, 2018.
Mr Benard is currently the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of LafargeHolcim.
He joined the company in 2012 as the Vice-President, Energy Group and before then, he worked at Saint-Gobain Glass as a Chief Procurement Officer as well as an International Energy Manager at Arcelor.
Mr Benard holds an MSc degree in Mathematics and Mechanics from the Universite Paris VI Pierre et Marie Curie, France.
