Mrs Omolara Elemide has been announced as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UAC of Nigeria Plc.
Mrs Elemide, whose appointment takes effect from Tuesday, January 1, 2019, was before the announcement the Executive Director in charge of Corporate Services at UAC of Nigeria.
She was chosen to replace the occupier of the position, Mr Abdul Akhor Bello, who is retiring from the company from January 2019.
In a statement issued by the firm, the board expressed its gratitude to Mr Bello for his selfless service to the company since joining them.
“On behalf of the board, Mr Dan Agbor the Chairman, thanks Mr Bello for his dedicated service to the company from 1989 to date and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” the statement said.
Recall that in January 2018, Mr Bello took over as the Group CEO of UAC of Nigeria after the retirement of Mr Larry Ettah.
The Acting Group CEO of the firm, Mrs Elemide, joined UAC of Nigeria board on January 1, 2018. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
She joined UAC in October 1983 and has worked in various capacities within the UAC Group including Group Audit Manager, Finance Director of UACN Property Development Company Plc from where she joined the Board of CAP Plc as Finance Director/Company Secretary in February 2005. She was appointed the Managing Director of CAP Plc in May 2009, a position she held until December 2017.
