After recording the lowest votes last week on the Nigerian Idol season 7, Debby ended her impressive run on the show, failing to make it to the top seven.
At the beginning of the show last Sunday, the host, IK Osakioduwa, called out the top 8 contestants and then disclosed that from the groundbreaking record of 20 million votes received in the week, Debby got the least and was, therefore, evicted.
The show, which is sponsored by Bigi, however, did not fail to excite the viewers and the judges, who were treated to electrifying performances at the Live Show themed the show-stopper.
David Oprah opened the floor with his rendition of Burna Boy’s Wonderful and he wowed the guest judge, Ice Prince, and the dance instructor, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy.
Banty continued her impressive run on the programme with an astonishing performance of Burno Mars Finesse, leaving the judges amazed throughout her performance.
Zadok’s rendition of Whitney Houston’s I want to Dance with You was also outstanding, and its highlight was the synergy between the vocal assignment and his dance moves, thus proving that he is not just a singer but a true performer.
Progress won the night with the song Bang Bang, by Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj, which Simi applauded as a fantastic performance.
Jordan’s performance of Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia was amazing such that the duo judges of Simi and Obi Asika spoke glowingly about vocals and how well his talent has developed.
Faith broke the ice with her rendition of Tiwa Savage’s Koroba, which had everyone, including the judges, spellbound and wondering whether Tiwa Savage herself groomed her for the show, an impressive appearance that kept Simi astonished with, especially with the quality of her tone.
Another performer was the 17-year-old Itohan, who delivered a mind-blowing gig of Rihanna’s Only Girl (In the World). Her performance, particularly her sonorous voice, wowed the judges and fans in the show.
