Nigerian creative and production company, EFANDR Creative, has launched a Holiday Creator Bootcamp aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical skills in photography, cinematography, filmmaking, editing and storytelling.

The initiative, founded by Mr Ayo Owolabi, Founder and Creative Director of Emerald Floyde and Royal, is designed to expose young people to the creative industry while providing them with access to knowledge, mentorship, equipment and practical experience.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr Owolabi said the programme was created in response to the gap between the creative potential of young Nigerians and the opportunities available to develop that potential.

“Nigeria does not lack talent. What many young people lack is access to the right knowledge, equipment, mentorship and opportunities,” Mr Owolabi said.

He explained that the bootcamp was not simply designed as a holiday activity but as part of EFANDR’s broader vision to build an ecosystem where young creatives can learn, collaborate and develop sustainable careers.

According to him, the company intends to build on the programme through the EFANDR Lagos School of Photography & Filmmaking, with plans to introduce more structured training programmes, mentorship opportunities and practical projects.

Mr Owolabi said outstanding participants would also have opportunities to gain real production experience, allowing them to transition from classroom learning to professional practice.

“Creativity can become a real profession, and we want young people to discover that early,” he said.

He added that EFANDR’s long-term ambition is to develop a strong creative talent pipeline capable of producing filmmakers, photographers, editors, directors, producers and storytellers who can compete on a global stage.

“Our goal is to see young people come through our programmes, build careers and businesses, create jobs and tell powerful Nigerian and African stories to the world,” Mr Owolabi said.

EFANDR Creative focuses on filmmaking, photography, music, content production and creative education, with the company positioning its educational initiatives as part of a broader effort to strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy.
