The legendary songstress, Ms Onyeka Onwenu, has reportedly died.
According to reports, the music maestro died after she slumped during a performance at a party in Lagos.
She was said to have slumped at the 80th birthday party of the chief executive of Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited on Tuesday evening.
Ms Onwenu was quickly taken to Reddington Hospital for medical attention, but she later passed on, according to reports, despite efforts to revive her.
The singer, born 72 years ago, was a leading figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She was an actress, human rights and social activist, journalist, politician, and former X Factor series judge. Dubbed the “Elegant Stallion” by the Nigerian press, she is a former chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture.
