The Nigerian Idol Season 7 is already reaching its climax and this is putting pressure on the contestants, who are battling to go home with the grand prizes of N100 million.

Last week, the show sprang a surprise when two contestants were evicted. They were Faith and Itohan. The two budding singers were sent out because they received the least votes.

According to the host of the programme, IK Osakioduwa, the show had 24 million votes in the week and has amassed more than 100 million votes for this season.

Business Post reports that Zadok, Jordan, Progress and Banty made it to the top four and will jostle for the number one spot in the remaining weeks. The Nigerian Idols season 7 sponsored by Bigi will end on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

The top four contenders did not fail to impress the judges comprising Obi Asika, D’Banj, Simi and the guest judge, Omawumi.

Progress sang Johnny Drille’s Wait for Me and it thrilled Obi Asika, Simi and D’Banj who said “keep progressing as you have proven your worth as a singer.”

Jordan did Aeroplane mode by Fireboy and received praises from Simi who confessed that “your voice is really fine and made D’Banj say “you sang from your heart, it is a classic performance,” with Omawumi saying “your voice is so melodious.”

When Zadok took to the stage to perform Timi Dakolo’s The Vow, he shook the stage and left everyone astounded and with a standing ovation, got heart-warming comments from the judges, with D’Banj saying “I must greet you specially, that was a great voice.” The guest judge for the show remarked “music is in you, don’t let it go,” while Obi Asika said “unbelievable stage display and vocal, you keep proving me right every week.”

As for Banty, she performed Asa’s Bibanke with her heart and used the opportunity to prove critics wrong, getting a standing ovation, with Omawumi saying “that was so beautiful to watch, your voice was cool.”
