European football enthusiasts will witness the re-enactment of last year’s Union of the European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League final at this year’s competition as defending champions, Bayern Munich face finalists, Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final following a draw held today in Nyon, Switzerland.
In another round of an expected thriller, fans will also see the two finalists in 2018 slug it out as Real Madrid welcome Liverpool, who went on to win the competition in 2019.
Madrid triumphed 3-1 in the encounter in Kyiv in 2018. Karim Benzema’s opening goal was cancelled out by Sadio Mané, but two further strikes from substitute Gareth Bale gave the Spanish outfit the trophy for the 13th time.
2004 winners, FC Porto of Portugal will welcome 2012 winners, Chelsea FC of England in the first leg at its stadium, the Estádio do Dragão while the return leg will be played in Stamford Bridge.
Another English Premier League heavyweight, Manchester City FC will face German Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund in a bid to make it to the last four.
