Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, Mrs Olufunmilayo Balogun has reiterated the commitment of the State government to developing a vibrant Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system in Lagos.

The Permanent Secretary, who stated this at a meeting with Information Communication Technology (ICT) Officers in different Ministries, Departments and Agencies, declared that ICTs are vital in reshaping many aspects of the world’s economies, governments and societies.

She noted that Technology has an important role to play in every aspect of human life, hence the need for public officials, businesses, and citizens to harness the transformative power of ICT to provide more efficient services, catalyze economic growth and strengthen social communication.

While urging all the ICT staff in the various MDAs to assert themselves, the Permanent Secretary stressed that they are the eye of the Government as their duties entail sharing information of the State Government by uploading content of government’s activities on websites.

Mrs Balogun, therefore, advised the ICT officers to add value to the State Civil Service no matter the challenges being faced while also ensuring that the State attains its mega city status in the global world.

In her words, “we must have passion for our job, work hard and cooperate with the present administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in moving Lagos to greater heights”.
