Registration for the 2017 N-Power programme earlier planned to end today has been extended by two weeks.
Acting President, Mr Yemi Osinbajo, approved extension of the programme today, and it now closes on Thursday, July 27, 2017, for all categories except N-Power Tax.
The N-Power scheme is a social programme established by the President Muhammadu Buhari to provide jobs to unemployed graduates in the country.
Successful applicants would be given jobs in the area of agriculture, teaching, health and others and they will earn N300,000 as salary for two years.
Last year, when the scheme kicked off, about 200,000 persons were employed by the Federal Government and were deployed to the 776 local government areas of the country.
In 2017, government is planning to increase the number by 100,000 and would include tax awareness officers this year.
Since application opened on June 13, 2017, over 2 million applications have been received from Nigerians.
In the first five days of opening the registration portal, more than 750,000 applications were received across the country.
