Nigerian commercial bank, Zenith Bank Plc, has announced that its branches across the country would close early to customers today, Monday, June 30, 2025, from 8 am to 3 pm.

In a notice to customers, the bank said this early closure is due to its routine half-year audit.

Customers have been advised to carry out their transactions early or alternatively use effective and time saving digital channels.

“Despite the early closure, you will perform your banking transactions conveniently using any of our secure digital channels,” the notice said.

Banks operating in Nigeria, especially those listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, audit their accounts two times a year. The audits happen in June and December.

Their financial statements are scrutinised by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) before being released to the public.

Zenith Bank is not the only bank taking this step as it will be joined by another Tier 1 counter part, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) to close at 3 pm today.

Business Post understands that normal schedule will resume from Tuesday, July 1.
