2CanPlay, a geo-location-based dating app, has launched its service aimed at driving meaningful conversation and allow users to relate with people they like quickly and eliminate the endless wait for reciprocity.

In a statement after the launch on Wednesday, July 8, the company said, “Most people use at least one dating app and come across a profile they immediately fall in love with.

“However, the chances of being liked by the owner of the profile are very slim. And that is why 2CanPlay is introducing the ‘insta-message’ feature.

“If you are interested in a profile you come across on the explore page, you can send a direct message to the user and/or like the profile. This is quite unlike other apps that only allow you to like or dislike a profile.

“To make sure that people don’t spam other users, the insta-message feature can only be used by spending the in-app currency called “coins” which can either be purchased or earned by referring friends and family.”

The developers explained that 2CanPlay will ensure greater user security and control by eliminating ghosting conversations and dead-end connections through photo, email, and phone number verifications.

Speaking on the plans for the app, the founder of 2CanPlay, Mr Adekunle Adeniji said, “Our mission is to connect singles starting from Nigeria and the rest of Africa and the world.

“We intend to lead the way as an app that will perhaps bring a higher level of security to dating applications while being mostly reflective of the user’s time for efficient matching,” he said.

“Now you will be able to meet people in your location and also have the option to like their profiles. And if you can’t wait for them to like you back, you can send them a message using the insta-message feature,” he added.

How does 2CanPlay work?

A new user has to register using either their existing Facebook profile or their phone number. We will then send a text message with an authentication code to the registered phone number which the user enters on the app; the registration takes approximately one minute to complete.

We expect a user to provide some required information like school, age, hobbies, and personality as well as upload a quality photo. Once all that is done, they are ready to meet people in their area.

The app is available for download on Android Playstore:

The iOS version is still in development and will be ready soon.
