The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded yet another positive week-on-week performance after stretching its gains by 1.44 per cent in Week 47.
This expanded the portfolios of NASD investors by N17 billion in the week to N1.162 trillion from the N1.145 trillion recorded in Week 46, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) increased by 12.16 points to 857.29 points from 845.13 points in the previous week.
The trading week was with three price gainers and three losers, with Aradel Holdings Plc on top of the advancers’ chart after it grew by 10 per cent to finish at N871.20 per share versus the preceding week’s N792.00 per share.
UBN Property Plc gained 6.5 per cent to close at N1.65 per unit compared with the earlier week’s N1.55 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc appreciated by 5.7 per cent to close at N74.00 per share versus the previous week’s N70.00 per share.
On the flip side, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc lost 8.4 per cent of its value to finish at N18.41 per unit versus N20.10 per unit, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc slid by 7.4 per cent to end at 25 Kobo per share as against the previous week’s 27 Kobo per share, and NASD Plc recorded a 5.6 per cent loss to end the week at N12.56 per share versus N13.30 per share.
In the week, the total value of stocks traded rose by 50.9 per cent from N94.2 million units recorded in Week 46 to N142.2 million, the volume of shares jumped by 103.7 per cent to 15.7 million from 7.7 million, while the number of deals decreased by 18.2 per cent to 72 deals from 88 deals.
NASD Plc was the most traded stock by value with N50.2 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc traded N38.4 million, Aradel Plc exchanged N25.9 million, CSCS Plc traded N15.2 million, and Geo Fluids Plc transacted N5.4 million.
In terms of the volume of trades, IGI Plc led with 4.8 million units, NASD Plc followed with 4.00 million units, UBN Property Plc posted 2.7 million units, Geo Fluids Plc recorded 2.0 million units, and CSCS Plc transacted 0.83 million units.
