NASD Investors Gain N20.47bn as Index Jumps 0.95%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its weekly bullish run, growing further by 0.95 per cent in the 43rd trading week of 2025.

In the week, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 34.21 points to 3,654.80 points from the preceding week’s 3,620.59 points, as the market capitalisation gained N20.47 billion to close at N2.186 trillion compared with the N2.166 trillion it ended a week earlier.

The five-day trading week finished with four price gainers led by NASD Plc, which surged by 33.1 per cent to sell at N38.59 per share compared with the previous week’s N29.00 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by 15.5 per cent to N48.45 per unit from N41.96 per unit, Newrest Asl Plc added 10.o per cent to sell at N45.94 per share versus N41.76 per share, 11 Plc rose by 9.9 per cent to N395.30 per unit from N359.37 per unit, and Geo-Fluids, which improved by 5.26 per cent to close at N4.20 per share versus N3.99 per share.

There were four price losers in the week led by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which slumped by 11.8 per cent to close at N56.30 per share compared with the previous week’s N63.82 per share, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc weakened by 10.6 per cent to 42 Kobo per unit from 47 Kobo per unit, UBN Property Plc declined by 10.1 per cent to N2.39 per share from N2.15 per share, and Okitipupa Plc depreciated by 10 per cent to N215.55 per unit from N239.50 per unit.

During the week, the volume of stocks traded went down by 89.1 per cent to 13.9 million units from 127.3 million units, while the value of securities increased by 26.7 per cent to N1.276 billion from N1.742 billion, and the number of deals grew by 6.67 per cent to 128 deals from 120 deals.

The most traded stock by value was Okitipupa Plc with N885.1 million, 11 Plc recorded N202.5 million, CSCS Plc traded N121.2 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc achieved N33.4 million, and NASD Plc posted N23.4 million.

In terms of volume, Okitipupa Plc also led with 5.1 million units, CSCS Plc transacted 2.8 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc reported 1.8 million units, IGI Plc quoted 1.1 million units, and UBN Property Plc traded 1.1 million units.
