CSCS Buoys NASD OTC Exchange by 0.80%

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc buoyed the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.80 per cent on Thursday, September 3, after its share price grew by N6.33 to N101.33 per unit from N95.00 per unit.
As a result, the NASD Security Index (NSI) increased by 35.46 points to 4,468.63 points from the previous day’s 4,433.17 points, and the market capitalisation added N21.29 billion to close at N2.682 trillion compared with the previous session’s N2.660 trillion.
During the session, three securities closed lower, with FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc declining by N3.66 to N165.29 per share from N169.05 per share. Food Concepts Plc lost 10 Kobo to end at N2.40 per unit versus the previous day’s N2.50 per unit, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc slipped by 4 Kobo to 50 Kobo per share from 54 Kobo per share.
Yesterday, the volume of securities exchanged by market participants fell by 38.4 per cent to 716,755 units from 1.2 million units, and the value of securities depleted by 57.6 per cent to N44.0 million from N103.7 million, while the number of deals increased by 76.9 per cent to 69 deals from 39 deals.
Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Plc ended the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units worth N8.4 billion, followed by Infrastructure Credit Guarantee (Infracredit) Plc with 2.3 billion units traded for N6.5 billion, and CSCS Plc with 81.2 million units transacted for N5.9 billion.
Also, GNI Plc closed the day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units exchanged for N8.4 billion, followed by Infracredit Plc with 2.3 billion units sold for N6.5 billion, and Resourcery Plc with 1.1 billion units valued at N415.7 million.
