The eNaira Speed Waller app designed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to function as the digital version of the Naira note has been restored to the Google Play Store.

The restoration of the mobile application came barely 24 hours after it was depleted for an upgrade after several complaints by users over their inability to complete their registration via the platform.

The disappearance from the Play Store occurred about 48 hours after the CBN uploaded the app to the platform after it was officially unveiled in Abuja on Monday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

As of the time of filing this report by a few minutes before 8 pm, the eNaira Speed Wallet was back on Google Play Store, though the reviews remain poor as users still said the issues earlier pointed out persisted.

One of the problems was the inability of users to easily link their email addresses to their Bank Verification Number (BVN) as the eNaira app keeps giving error messages and directing people to their banks for help.

Earlier today, the Director of Corporate Communications at the CBN, Mr Osita Nwanisobi, had said in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, that the apex bank was aware of the issues and decided to remove the app to address the glitches observed.
