Guinness Nigeria Proposes N1.52k Dividend

Those who have shares with Guinness Nigeria Plc should be gearing up for a cash reward of N1.52k for each of the company’s stock with them.

The board of the brewery firm has proposed to pay shareholders the above amount subject to appropriate withholding tax and approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) fixed for Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 11am.

In a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Guinness Nigeria said it would only pay this final dividend to shareholders whose names appear in the register of members as at the close of business on September 20,2019.

It further stated that the register of shareholders would be closed from September 23 to 27, 2019, with the payment date fixed for Thursday, October 24, 2019.

In the notice, the firm said, On October 24, 2019, dividends will be paid electronically to shareholders whose names appear on the register of members as at September 20, 2019 and who have completed the e-dividend rregistration and mandated the registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.

In view of this, Guinness Nigeria said shareholders who are yet to complete the e-dividend registration should download the registrar’s e-dividend mandate activation form, which is available on the registrar’s website (Veritas Registrars). After the download, the form should be filled and returned to the registrar or shareholder’s bank for processing.
