A media personality, Ms Kadaria Ahmed, has resigned from the board of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc.
A statement from the underwriting firm disclosed that Ms Ahmed, who is the chief executive of Radio Now 95.3FM in Lagos, is leaving the board alongside Mr Eze Ebube.
According to the disclosure signed by the Company Secretary, Mr Jide Ibitayo, the resignations of the two non-executive directors became effective December 31, 2023.
“This is to inform Nigerian Exchange Limited, our valued shareholders, the investing public and key stakeholders of the resignation of Dr Eze Ebube and Ms Kadaria Ahmed from the board of directors of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc from December 31, 2023.
“The board of directors would like to express its appreciation to the directors for their unflinching commitment and contributions to the growth of the company and wish them well in all their future endeavours,” the statement filed to the stock exchange said.
Ms Ahmed was appointed to the board of Mutual Benefits Assurance as a director in October 2016.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Bayero University, Kano and a Master’s Degree in Television from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London.
She is a seasoned professional media executive and strategic Communications consultant to NGOs and public and private sector boards.
Ms Ahmed was a Senior Producer, Journalist and Acting Editor with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and was co-founder and media consultant for Blue Communications EMEA from 2003 to 2006.
Between 2006 and 2008, she worked with Shoreline Energy International as the Head of Corporate Communications and Resort Group Limited as the Group Head of Corporate Communications.
Ms Ahmed was an Editor of Timbuktu Media, Publishers of Next Newspaper between 2011 and 2016. She later worked with Africa Practice R & B and Reinvent Media Ltd. as Associate Director and Partner, respectively. She is an influential member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
