NASD OTC Bourse Extends Bullish Run by 0.13%

A further increase of 0.13 per cent was recorded by the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) on Wednesday, March 30 triggered by positive price movements from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

The milk producer closed the session at N125.00 per share after appreciating by N1 or 0.8 per cent as its previous trading session’s value was N124.00 per share, while the Nigerian depository company gained 10 kobo or 0.6 per cent to sell at N17.33 per unit compared with the previous N17.23 per unit.

The duo pushed the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC bourse higher by N1.21 billion to wrap the day at N952.67 billion compared with the preceding session’s N951.46 billion.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased yesterday by 0.92 points to 724.53 points from the 723.61 points recorded a day earlier.

Despite the gains, there was a price loser and this was NASD Plc, which fell by 59 kobo or 4.67 per cent to close at N12.00 per unit compared to the previous day’s N12.59 per unit.

On the activity chart, there was a rise in the volume of securities traded at the midweek session by 658.2 per cent to 470,058 units from 62,000 units, while the value of the securities went higher by 385.4 per cent to N21.1 million from N4.4 million, with the number of deals jumping by 100 per cent to 10 deals from Tuesday’s five deals.

AG Mortgage Plc ended the session as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, while CSCS Plc stood in second place with 658.9 million worth N13.8 billion, with NASD Plc was in third place with 41.9 million units valued at N447.4 million.

The most traded stock by value (year-to-date) was CSCS Plc with the sale of 658.9 million units exchanged for N13.8 billion, AG Mortgage Plc was in second place with 2.3 billion units worth N1.2 billion, while NASD Plc was in third place with 41.9 million units valued at N447.4 million.
