NASD OTC Securities Exchange Records 0.03% Loss

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a marginal 0.03 per cent depreciation on Thursday, May 23 after FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N1.05 to close at N50.00 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N51.05 per unit.

As a result, the market capitalisation lost N610 million to trade at N1.756 trillion compared with the previous day’s N1.757 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) depleted by 0.44 points to wrap the session at 1,282.72 points compared with 1,283.16 points recorded at the previous session.

It was observed that during the trading day, Afriland Properties Plc appreciated by N1.05 to end at N16.62 per share, in contrast to Wednesday’s closing price of N15.57 per share.

The volume of securities traded during the session declined by 86.5 per cent to 41,872 units from the 310,294 units recorded a day earlier, the value of transactions declined by 68.2 per cent to N15.3 million from N48.1 million and the number of deals decreased by 30.8 per cent to 27 deals from the 39 deals were executed in the preceding trading session.

Aradel Holdings Plc, with a turnover of 5.2 million units valued at N11.5 billion, remained the most active equity by value on a year-to-date basis, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with the sale of 100.6 million units for N2.4 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc transacted 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion.

Capital Hotels Plc ended the trading day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 228.6 million units worth N1.1 billion, trailed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with the sale of 139.8 million units for N240.1 million, and CSCS Plc with a turnover of 100.6 million units valued at N2.4 billion.
