Canada Royal Academy to Train 500 Nigerians on Leadership

The Canada Royal Academy has disclosed plans to train 500 Nigerians, especially youths in the south-eastern region of the country, with leadership skills.

The academy said that the leadership training programme tagged The Executive Leadership Summit Enugu 2021 is meant to give leadership direction and future to leadership aspiring youths within the zone.

According to the facilitator of the scheme, Mr Chukwuma Okenwa, the Canadian academy-sponsored event will start with a summit on Saturday, September 11 in Enugu.

Mr Okenwa, who also doubles as the Executive Director, Leadership and Entrepreneurship Advocacy (LEAD) Network Africa, said in Enugu on Wednesday that, “The event is coming at a time like this to help business leaders, leaders in government, leaders in different sectors, youth development and youth leaders come together.

“This is meant to build the capacity to uplift people both in the business and public space as well as give a way forward for future executive leaders of the zone.

“It will be a platform for synergy between government, captains of industry, innovative young minds and youths to meet and fertilise ideas.

“It will also make for linkages, connectivity as well as employment and recruitment opportunities.”

According to him, the programme will provide a positive focus for the people of the zone especially youths and make them start small but think global in terms of expansion and reach.

He named the lead speaker and convener of the programme as Dr Holyjoy Aduolih, from the Benin Republic, and an associate of Canada Royal Academy.

“Others are me, Okenwa; Mr Nonso Nnamani, National Convener of Power Shift; Mr Wilfred Okeke, Youth Development Expert and Mrs Priscilla Canice-Obi, CEO Nature First among other speakers at the event.

“The participants in the programme are expected to observe all COVID-19 safety and health protocols,” he added.
