Upwardly mobile journalist and brand strategist, Mr Charles Aigbe, has left the United Bank of Africa (UBA) Plc for Fidelity Bank.
Mr Aigbe was said to have resigned from UBA as the Divisional Head, Marketing and Corporate Relations of UBA to become the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications of Fidelity Bank.
His appointment at Fidelity Bank was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, the well-travelled Mr Aigbe was appointed in line with the bank’s rebranding and repositioning strategy of the next growth phase and tapping from his wealth of experience.
Mr Okonkwo said, “We welcome him to the Fidelity Bank family. We will work together, leveraging our combined experiences to actualise all our growth initiatives and grow the Fidelity Bank brand.”
The alumnus of the University of Jos is a chartered stockbroker and member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing armed with career spanning over two decades in financial services, media, brand management, public relations and communications.
Mr Aigbe started his career in the investment banking end of the Nigerian financial industry with the defunct Kapital Merchant Bank before moving into broadcasting when he joined DBN Television in the mid 90s.
He left as News Controller/Business Editor in late 2001 to take up an appointment with the UBA in January 2002.
