To mark this year’s International Youth Day slated for Thursday, August 12, the leading financial institution, Ecobank Nigeria, has announced the creation of a new platform as part of activities to celebrate Nigerian youths.
This was made known by the Head, Direct Banking of Ecobank, Mrs Adetola Oshomah, who stated that the bank, as part of its Mobile Xpress (MX) Online Series, is hosting a symposium for the young at heart.
The symposium titled Finding your Voice, is set to be a career, creativity, and skills advocacy programme to support youth development and will have a mentorship panel made up of influential Nigerian youths, including ace comedian, Bright “Basketmouth” Okpocha and actress, Jemima Osunde among others.
According to Mrs Oshomah, this is one of several activities to demonstrate that Ecobank is a youth-friendly bank as it has rolled out digital solutions, products and services that are targeted at creating convenience for the youths.
“We are putting together an advocacy platform for the Nigerian youth, that will enable them to express themselves, speak out on their career choices, unleash their creative talents and skills, as well as unveil the individual salient attributes that prepare them for the challenges of life,” she said.
Joining the list of the panel include Ms Adeoluwa Enioluwa, who is a writer and public speaker; Mr Ozinna Anumudu, an expert in fashion and branding; and Mr Bankole Williams, a consultant, also a career coach and a host of other successful personnel.
She stated that the supportive seminar will hold virtually in which the youths are given the opportunity to speak, also including panels composed of young people who have excelled in their various careers and professions.
She added that Ecobank seeks to empower young people by offering them convenient, affordable, and accessible financial services anytime and anywhere from their mobile phones, which is their primary mode of communication.
