British PM Boris Johnson Tests Negative for COVID-19

British Prime Minister, Mr Boris Johnson, has recovered and tested negative for COVID-19, his spokesman said on Monday.

Mr Johnson spent a week in hospital and was in the intensive care unit for about three nights after contracting the virus. After he was discharge, the PM sad he owed his life to the medical staff who treated him.

Mr Johnson was taken to St Thomas’ Hospital in central London on April 5, after suffering from persistent symptoms of the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

On April 6, he was moved into intensive care, where he remained until April 9.

With the number of coronavirus deaths in Britain currently at 11,329 – a rise of 717 compared to the previous day – the Ministry of Defence said it was deploying 200 military personnel across the country in support of ambulance services, PA cited the prime minister’s office as saying.

Downing Street said the soldiers would carry out a variety of roles including driving vehicles, taking calls, manning response centres and supporting paramedic crews.
