Glo Launches Mobile TV to Foster Subscribers Relationship

Nigerian multinational telecommunications giant, Globacom Limited, commonly known as Glo, in submission to provide all-round entertainment to its subscribers, has launched a first-of-its-kind mobile TV service called GloTV.

The TV service is set to become Nigeria’s one-stop entertainment destination as the mobile TV will offer premium entertainment, news and sports contents to the subscribers, as it is powered by the reliable Glo 4G technology which ensures a pleasant streaming experience.

While presenting the new service at the company’s headquarters in Lagos on Tuesday, the telco explained that the app is for customers on its prepaid and postpaid platforms who own compliant android and iPhone devices and will be required to visit the Glotv website to register and download the Glo TV app free of charge until September 30, 2021.

The telecommunications solutions provider added further that GloTV will positively alter the television landscape in Nigeria as it will beam highly exclusive television content to millions of subscribers via their desktop and mobile handheld devices.

“We believe that with the rich entertainment value on the Glo TV app, subscribers will see it as their preferred app for video content consumption, especially TV content as we continue to deliver on our goal of creating entertainment, laughter, fun, happiness and excitement for our valued customers,” it stated.

The company added that the innovative TV streaming service which is on Android, IOS apps and web for watching live linear TV, video on demand and catch-up content, was made possible through the network’s partnership with content providers to address the needs of more customers across different socio-economic groups and avail them a unique opportunity to experience the best-in-class TV content.

“We are confident that with the launch of Glo TV, our network will cater to the content preferences of Nigerians across different socio-economic groups and offer them an exclusive opportunity to experience the best-in-class TV content,” the firm disclosed.

It also described the app as an exciting product that ensures that access to television programming graduates from computer and television access to include mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers and are available on the go and real-time.

According to the company, Glo TV brings engaging, interactive and premium entertainment content through a rich bouquet of offerings including hundreds of live entertainment programmes, music, documentary, news, original shows, fashion, lifestyle, kiddies’ interest channels and over 1,000 videos as the company continues to partner with content providers to address the needs of more customers across social strata.
