The market capitalisation of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded no movement as the market closed in the flat territory on Wednesday, November 25.
The total value of unlisted securities market in Nigeria closed the midweek trading session at N547.06 billion following the outcome of the market. Also, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) ended the session at 735.99 points, the same level it ended at the previous session.
However, the activity chart recorded movements as the volume of trades transacted by investors rose by 775.53 per cent due to the 546,731 units of shares exchanged on Wednesday compared with the 62,446 units transacted on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, the value of the transactions recorded yesterday went down by 87.5 per cent as securities worth N394,981.02 were traded by market participants in contrast to the N3.2 million achieved a day earlier.
But the number of deals executed during the trading day increased significantly by 200 per cent as a total of nine deals were carried out by investors versus the three deals made the previous day.
These deals were done on four stocks led by Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc and Afriland Properties Plc, which accounted for three deals each. FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc recorded two deals, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc executed a single deal.
ARM Life Plc closed the session as the company with the highest volume of traded shares (year-to-date) with 7.4 million units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc was in second place with 204.6 million units worth N2.7 billion, while Food Concepts Plc held the third position with 152.1 million units of its shares worth N109.4 million.
ARM Life Plc was also the company with the highest number of stocks traded by value (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion, while NDEP Plc followed for trading 10.9 million units for N3.4 billion, with CSCS Plc in third place after trading 204.6 million units of its securities valued at N2.7 billion.
