Jumia Nigeria Rolls Out Promo for FIFA World Cup

One of the leading e-commerce firms in the country, Jumia Nigeria, as part of initiatives to support the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, has rolled out some reward programmes for its numerous customers.

A statement issued by Jumia Nigeria disclosed that the promo, which commenced today, June 4, 2018, will end on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

The FIFA World Cup, which holds every four years, is the biggest football tournament in the world with 32 countries competing for glory.

This edition hosted by Russia will start on June 14 through July 15, 2018.

Head of Engagement Marketing at Jumia Nigeria, Ms Olamide Amosu, said in the statement that, “This year’s World Cup is indeed very remarkable for the entire nation because Nigeria will be participating in the tournament and we are rooting for the Super Eagles to make all of us proud by bringing the Cup home.”

She stated that some of the activities lined up to reward Nigerians for watching all the games include cash-back programme, which will allow customers who buy an item to get reimbursed or given the opportunity to win free vouchers if their teams make it to certain rounds of the tournament.

Another is the football tournament, which allows fans to shoot videos of unique ball juggling skills to stand a chance to win amazing freebies.

Also is what is called the Naija fans essentials, where hundreds of football-related items are to be won like jerseys, soccer shoes, casual sneakers etc.

Another is the show love for your team video, which allows fans to upload short videos of themselves showing support for their favourite teams; videos with highest number of likes to be rewarded with fantastic deals, while the last is the wheel of fortune, where over N50,000 worth of vouchers will be given out during the duration of the tournament.

Ms Amosu, in the statement, described these initiatives as deliberate effort by Jumia to connect with football fans during this world cup season.

“Beyond drumming up support for the Super Eagles, we have put these initiatives in place to reward Nigerians for watching the games and supporting their teams, especially those who also support the Nigerian team,” the top marketer said.
