Employees of Arik Air who are members of three unions in the aviation industry have been assured that better welfare packages would be pushed for of their behalf.
Addressing aviation correspondents at a media briefing recently in Lagos, the associations said they would meet with management of the airline to discuss better packages for members.
The unions are the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Air Traffic Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE).
Speaking on behalf of the three bodies, Assistant General Secretary of NAAPE, Comrade Femi Ajagbe, disclosed that the need for a better welfare package for members was necessary especially when the country was in recession.
Comrade Ajagbe said the unions would cooperate with management of the airline to promote the industry and grow the airline business.
However, he charged members of the union to always be loyal, dedicated and committed to their work responsibility by promoting industrial peace within the aviation industry.
