The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange opened the week in the red territory after it depreciated by 0.67 per cent on Monday, October 30.

The weakening of the NASD OTC exchange was influenced by the N4.65 loss recorded by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, closing at N75.04 per unit versus last Friday’s N79.69 per unit.

However, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc gained 20 Kobo to finish at N20.20 per share compared with the preceding session’s N20.00 per share, and UBN Property Plc appreciated by 10 Kobo to trade at N1.46 per unit, in contrast to last Friday’s closing price of N1.36 per unit.

As a result of the loss posted by the dairy firm, the market capitalisation of the alternative exchange went down by N7.52 billion to close at N1.113 trillion as against the previous trading day’s N1.120 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) slumped by 5.54 points to finish at 821.14 points compared with the previous session’s 826.65 points.

During the trading day, the volume of securities traded by investors increased by 385.1 per cent to 1.9 million units from 405,176 units, while the value of transactions slumped by 94.3 per cent to N10.0 million from N175.8 million, and the number of deals decreased by 50 per cent to nine deals from the 18 deals reported last Friday.
