#AMECMM 2017: P+ Measurement Services to Host AMEC Measurement Month in Nigeria

Image

By Modupe Gbadeyanka

Wednesday, September 27, 2017 has been fixed for the hosting of the first AMEC Measurement Month in Nigeria.

The event is facilitated by P+ Measurement Services, the first independent PR Measurement Agency in Nigeria and also the only indigenous member of the International Association for the Measurement & Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) in Nigeria.

AMEC’s Measurement Month is a global programme of activities to spotlight attention on the importance of PR measurement. It’s a simple idea which benefits members, clients and the industry by putting measurement on a world stage. And any AMEC member, irrespective of size, can take part.

A statement issued by the organiser said the event will be centred on discussions and education on AVE, Valid metrics, Barcelona Principle 2.0 and the current trend to eradicate AVE.

In Nigeria, there has been a misconception on AVE being a measurement tool and the Barcelona Principle a measurement method and there is a need to close that gap through education in the communications industry in Nigeria.

The forum will be facilitated by the Lead Consultant, P+ Measurement Services Nigeria, Mr Philip Odiakose and holds at P+ Viewing Space, Surulere, Lagos State from 3pm to 4 pm.

Measurement Month is filled with free to attend events, webinars, executive discussions, podcasts, workshops and much more, focusing on filling the gap between understanding the value of PR measurement and doing something about it.

Peter Obi, Prospects and Challenges

By Jerome-Mario Chijioke Utomi This piece stemmed from two uniquely similar but different sources. First is a WhatsApp picture of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential flag bearer and his running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, which I recently stumbled upon on a group platform. The referenced portrait was laced with the following inscriptions; Nigeria Has Never Had It This Good! No missing certificates, excellent academic achievements, good, verifiable track records, good business administration and no criminal records. While reflecting on the portrait and its messages, I got yet another WhatsApp message. Like the first, it reads; ‘Obicracy is a

Partnerships for Progress: Collaboration Between Banks and Fintechs is the Future of Banking in Africa

By Ike.S Anison Historically, the formal banking sector’s penetration in Africa has been relatively low. And, while there has been significant improvement in this area in recent years, there is still a significant portion of the population on the continent who are unbanked or lack access to financial services. According to the World Bank, approximately 350 million adults in sub-Saharan Africa are still unbanked, accounting for 17% of the 2 billion global unbanked population. This has largely been due to a struggle to tap into the continent’s low-income segment, the widest proportion of the population. Consumers within this market feel
